It’s OK
I bought this app at the beginning of 2015. I liked the idea that it would record all of my drives without me having to remember to start it. At first I loved it - seemed so convenient. However, things started happening that weren’t so great. It would record me walking around my shop and I would have to delete all of those trips. It also turned out to be a huge battery hog. I thought it was because I was on an iPhone 4s and maybe the app wasn’t optimized for that phone. I upgraded to the 6 when it was time and it didn’t help. I also had issues with it not recording all of my drives. For instance I did a 3000 mile drive out and back for work and the app missed the whole thing. That’s a $1500 deduction! The app would also quit regularly and I would have to notice that and get it up and running again.
I also found that the maps were kind of un-detailed, which meant that if I hadn’t recorded that drive right away it was hard to figure out where I had been.
A last detail that is really important. I found out that for the IRS to accept your business log (if you get audited) it needs to show your personal miles along with your business miles. The IRS won’t accept that you only drove for business. This app erases all of your personal miles.
I wanted to love the app, but in the end I found that it was worth paying more for a better app.
